Falling film HCL absorbers is similar in constructional design to Cubic Block Graphite Heat Exchangers in vertical Position.

It has a number of Cubic shape Graphite Block stacked together vertical alignment on top of the stock of blocks is mounted a distributor block evenly distributing Absorption water through wires into vertical holes. This creates a thin film of water flowing down to the inner surface of the holes.

Hydrogen chloride Gas flowing co-currently down words is continuously absorbed into the film of water. Heat of mixing is continuously carried away by cooling water passing through the horizontal holes in the Graphite blocks.

Falling films HCL absorbers along with packed column type tail gas scrubbers are extensively used for absorption of HCL Gas to produce commercial Grade Hydrochloric Acid and maintain clean environment.
